Justin and Um
Justin rescued “Um” from a dumpster when he was just a kitten. Today they share an unbreakable bond, “keeping each other warm at night,” as Justin told our team.

IN HER SHOES/HOPE. PERIOD: AMINA
Every heart holds a story. It’s through sharing these stories that we relate, learn, and know that we are not alone. Today we are HONORED to hear from our dear friend Amina Nzamwitakuze Harmon. She is a wife, mother, survivor of the Rwandan Genocide, and a big part of SheHopes. We have worked with her in East Africa, and now we get the pleasure of working with her here in Wichita. She is our Swahili translator, our consultant, and our HERO.

Becoming the Employer of Choice
Most farmers could talk for days about soil pH, tractor implements, and seed varieties. When it comes to producing vegetables and stewarding the land, their technical expertise is dialed in. But when the conversation turns to supporting a crew of humans, farmers often feel like they could use some support. This was the feedback we heard loud and clear back in 2019, when we first wrote a grant to fund our work on the Becoming the Employer of Choice program

We believe we are called to follow the Gospel mandate to care for those in need. Guest comment humbles those around to think about more than how much we have. Written by Courtney Mabie, Wellspring case manager and office manager. Charles Spurgeon said, “It is not …

LADY GAGA SAYS FORGIVE YOURSELF!
Last weekend Lady Gaga took a major spill in the arms of one of her audience members. What should have been a spectacular moment for Jack to be up on stage with the infamous Lady Gaga, quickly turned to a horrific moment. They both fell off the stage in front of thousands of people. How would we have recovered from that situation? Where would we have placed blame?
How many times have we been involved in a negative or bad situation where we could have changed it into a positive by telling someone to forgive himself/herself?
Our pursuit is to inspire and support Black and Latinx girls.
I am Like a Train: I Overcome
TrueRose Incubator®, Inc. Starves out fear and incubates purpose-led leadership in Black and Latinx girls in Middle-School and High-School. We aim to rectify issues that are attributed to racial and gender bias in society and adverse childhood trauma by providing access to mental health services, self-enrichment courses, and mentorship to high school and middle school Black and Latinx girls. As a healing-centered organization, we fully intend to create a world where there is a surplus of mentally and emotionally sound leaders and encourage a future pool of diverse and capable leadership. However, to create the world that we desire we must begin conversations around trauma in our communities and realize the power of our voice and HerStory.
This blog will highlight the experiences of our very own Kyana Shearn throughout a very challenging season of her life. Through her experiences we hope that someone sees themselves and finds courage to push forward and overcome. This is HerStory...
